Editorial Policy

This policy explains how we create content and the standards we hold ourselves to.

Accuracy and sourcing

We base our content on primary and authoritative sources — including NINDS, the NIH, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Cochrane, and peer-reviewed research on PubMed. Key statistics and claims are cited. Where evidence is limited or emerging, we say so plainly rather than overstating it.

Honest, non-misleading language

Medical review

Articles are reviewed by an independent medical reviewer before publication. See our medical review process.

Updates and corrections

We update articles as evidence evolves and show a review date. If you spot an error, please tell us — we take corrections seriously.

Advertising and affiliates

Some content contains affiliate links. Commercial relationships never dictate our health guidance. See our affiliate disclosure.
